1. Prohibited Content
You may not use our Services to host, store, transmit, or distribute:
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or any content that sexually exploits minors
- Content that promotes, facilitates, or incites violence or terrorism
- Content that infringes upon the intellectual property rights of third parties
- Defamatory, harassing, or threatening content
- Content that violates any applicable local, state, federal, or international law
- Malware, viruses, spyware, ransomware, or other malicious code
- Illegal drug sales, illegal firearms sales, or other illegal commerce
2. Prohibited Activities
You may not use our Services to:
- Send unsolicited bulk email (spam) or operate mail servers used for spam
- Conduct phishing attacks or operate fraudulent websites impersonating legitimate organizations
- Conduct denial-of-service (DoS) or distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other systems or networks
- Execute port scanning, vulnerability scanning, or penetration testing against systems you do not own without explicit authorization
- Mine cryptocurrency without our express written permission
- Operate IRC servers, botnets, or peer-to-peer file sharing networks
- Circumvent resource limits, quotas, or usage restrictions on your account
- Resell or sublicense our Services without authorization
3. Resource Usage
Shared hosting accounts must not consume server resources in a manner that degrades performance for other customers. This includes but is not limited to:
- Running persistent background processes or daemons
- Executing CPU-intensive scripts continuously
- Storing large volumes of files unrelated to website operation (e.g., personal file backup)
- Generating excessive database queries that impact server performance
We reserve the right to throttle, suspend, or terminate accounts that exceed reasonable resource usage without prior warning if the situation is causing immediate harm to other customers.
4. Email Usage
Email services may only be used for legitimate business and personal communication. You must comply with the CAN-SPAM Act and all applicable anti-spam laws. You may not use our email services to:
- Send unsolicited bulk messages
- Forge email headers or sender information
- Harvest email addresses from third parties without consent
5. Security Responsibilities
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your hosting account, including keeping all software, plugins, and CMS installations up to date. Accounts compromised due to outdated software, weak passwords, or negligent security practices may be suspended to prevent harm to other customers and our infrastructure.
6. Reporting Abuse
To report abuse originating from our network, please contact us at support@zone6hosting.com with a detailed description and any relevant evidence. We take abuse reports seriously and respond promptly.
7. Enforcement
We reserve the right to investigate potential violations of this AUP. Violations may result in:
- Warning and request to remediate the violation
- Temporary suspension of services
- Permanent termination of account without refund
- Referral to law enforcement where applicable
We will make reasonable efforts to notify you of violations, except where immediate action is necessary to protect our network, other customers, or where prohibited by law.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this AUP at any time. Continued use of our Services following changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
